A space dedicated to the classical art of Bharatanatyam — rooted in devotion, shaped by discipline, and brought to life through rigorous training and soulful expression.
Samskruti Institute of Fine Arts was founded with a single vision — to preserve, practice, and propagate the timeless classical tradition of Bharatanatyam. Rooted in the Thanjavur Bani, the institute nurtures students through disciplined training, artistic exploration, and a deep understanding of tradition. We believe dance is not just movement—it is a way of thinking, feeling, and connecting with something larger than oneself.
Our founder brings decades of training under esteemed gurus, performing on prestigious stages across India. Every student who walks through our doors inherits not just technique, but a living connection to one of India's oldest art forms — a practice of body, breath, and spirit.

I have been learning under her guidance for the past 12 years, and it has truly been a deeply fulfilling and transforOver the years, I have also completed my Junior and Senior examinations conducted by the Karnataka Board with distinction. Her teaching style is something I deeply admire. She is incredibly dedicated, precise, and patient. She consistently works on correcting us, helping us understand our bodies better, and guiding us to strengthen both our technique and expression. Her mentorship goes far beyond just dance; the values, discipline, and perspective she has instilled in me have enriched my life in many ways. I would wholeheartedly recommend her class to anyone who wishes to pursue dance with sincerity and dedication. Learning from her is not just about dance, it is about growing into a more confident and disciplined individual.
I have been training in dance since 2015 under Vidushi Swathi Krishnakumar and this journey has shaped me in ways that go far beyond just learning choreography. Over the years, I’ve developed not only technical skills and expressive ability, but also confidence, discipline, and a deeper understanding of movement and storytelling skills. I have also completed my junior and senior exams under the Karnataka government securing first class and distinction respectively. What I enjoy the most about the class is the environment. It truly feels like a second home a space where I can be myself, grow, and share meaningful moments with friends who share the same passion. The teaching style is both encouraging and structured, allowing each student to improve at their own pace while still being challenged to do better. Some of my most memorable experiences have been performing on stage, especially at the ISKCON Ratha Yatra in Tenali (July 2025) and at the Udupi Krishna Mutt in (September 2025). Performing in such spiritual and culturally rich settings was incredibly special and fulfilling as it is a feeling that stays with you long even after the performance ends. I would absolutely recommend this dance class to others. It’s not just about learning dance it’s about personal growth, building confidence, forming strong and supportive connections.
I am a proud student of Vid. Swathi Krishnakumar. I have been learning Bharatanatyam under Swathi akka since 2015. Over the years, I have completed both my Junior Grade and Senior Grade examinations conducted by the Karnataka Government, securing first class. Under her guidance, I have not only improved my dance skills be it expressions, technique, or movements, but also developed strength, confidence, and discipline. Akka doesn’t just teach dance; she shapes us into better dancers and better individuals. She has instilled in us the true importance of consistency, passion, and love for the art. The class environment is always encouraging and comfortable, making every session a valuable learning experience. Every day in class feels like an opportunity to grow and discover something new in dance. I would highly recommend this class to anyone who wishes to learn Bharatanatyam with depth, dedication, and joy
I restarted my dance journey about a year ago after a break of nearly 15 years, and it has been an incredibly rewarding experience. Swathi is a highly committed teacher who emphasizes perfection and discipline. She sets high standards for punctuality, responsibility, and ownership, which really helps shape and guide students in the right direction. Over time, I’ve seen a noticeable improvement in my flexibility, angashuddhi, and confidence. I’m also steadily working on enhancing my expressions and stamina. What I enjoy most is how challenging the classes are, especially when we get to train alongside senior students. It pushes me to go beyond my comfort zone and constantly improve. The class environment is positively competitive, encouraging everyone to give their best. I genuinely look forward to weekends as it gives me dedicated time to learn and grow. I’ve also had the opportunity to perform in a few stage shows, and the experience has been amazing—I’m truly grateful for those opportunities. I would definitely recommend this class to anyone who is serious about learning dance. It’s been a 100% positive and enriching experience for me.
Swathi is truly an amazing Bharatanatyam teacher. We are based in Ireland, and after trying several teachers, we finally found the right one in her. Even though the classes are online, she gives her full attention to every detail. She quickly notices even the smallest mistakes in posture, hastas, and movements, and patiently demonstrates the correct way, which is so important in Bharatanatyam. I’m very happy with my daughter’s progress, and she has been enjoying the classes consistently for the past two years
